Tairyouichiba

Tairyou Ichiba, whose name means big catch market in Japanese, is a lively izakaya near Metrotown in Burnaby. The draw is the sushi: thick-cut sashimi, aburi nigiri and the famous mega-sized pieces piled high with negitoro or chopped scallop. Nabeyaki udon, gyu-tan and ankimo round out a menu built for sharing over beer. Prices stay friendly, the room fills up at dinner, and reservations are a good idea. It is closed on Mondays.
