Maha's

Homesick for Egypt, Maha Barsoom opened Maha's in Toronto's Leslieville in 2014 with her daughter, Monika, and son, Mark. The homey spot serves breakfast and lunch only, with no reservations; climb the steps to the coffee bar and order the honey-cardamom latte. The lentil soup, said to be what sparked the restaurant, is a must, and the Cairo classic pairs tender fava bean stew with falafel, boiled egg and impossibly soft balady bread. It is a Recommended restaurant in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Toronto & Region.
