Farmer's Apprentice

A small restaurant on West 6th Avenue in Vancouver, open since 2013 and built on a farm to table ethos with organic ingredients, sustainable sourcing and a menu that turns with the seasons, matched to a list of organic wines. The kitchen is led by Top Chef Canada alum Alden Ong, whose cooking sets an Asian accent against regional produce in dishes such as shrimp crusted striped bass with XO sauce, or radish and Sieglinde potato salad with chilli miso tamarind vinaigrette. The room is tiny and rustic in feel. It has held a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide since 2015.
