Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen

A Jamaican restaurant on Portland Street in Toronto, co founded by Janet Zuccarini and Angela Lawrence, with Jamaican born chef Dadrian Coke in the kitchen. It occupies an 1890s row house with two floors of seating, two bars and patios outside. The cooking is a straightforward celebration of Jamaican tradition, homey and unpretentious, with curry goat and oxtail stew among the mainstays and saltfish fritters to start. It received the MICHELIN Plate in 2022 and has been recognised in the guide in the years since.
