Quetzal

Quetzal is a contemporary Mexican fine dining restaurant located in the Little Italy neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 2018, the restaurant introduced an innovative concept centered around an open-kitchen design featuring a massive 28-foot-long wood-fire grill. The culinary team applies elevated tasting-menu techniques to traditional Mexican regional cuisines, focusing heavily on authentic flavours from Oaxaca and Yucatan. The menu showcases bold, smoky dishes cooked entirely over wood fire alongside refreshing raw selections, with signature items including freshly prepared ceviches and aguachiles, carne cruda, and charcoal-grilled black cod. Quetzal has received significant international and national acclaim, earning a prestigious Michelin Star in 2022 and maintaining it ever since. Additionally, its bar program won the Michelin Exceptional Cocktail Award in 2023, and the establishment has been ranked among Canada's 100 Best Restaurants and North America's 50 Best Restaurants.
