Cherry Street Bar-B-Que

A counter service barbecue house on Cherry Street in Toronto's Port Lands, open since 2016 in a 1920s former Dominion Bank building that previously held the Cherry Street Restaurant. It is owned and led by pitmaster Lawrence La Pianta, who came up through the Kansas City Barbeque Society competition circuit, and the meats are pit smoked over white oak in the time honoured Southern tradition. Texas style brisket and St Louis style ribs are the dishes most often singled out. It has held a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide since 2022.
