Ardo

A Sicilian restaurant at 243 King Street East in Toronto's Old Town, from chef Roberto Marotta and creative director Jacqueline Nicosia. Marotta comes from Milazzo, a port town on the northeast coast of Sicily, and the restaurant is named after his son Leonardo, who as a toddler shortened his own name to Ardo. The 54 seat room opens to the street through a retractable garage door in warm weather, and the kitchen works through southern Italian staples such as chickpea fritters, arancini, seafood and cannoli. Ardo is listed in the MICHELIN Guide Toronto.
