Tiger Sugar (老虎堂) on Midland Avenue in Scarborough is a Taiwanese bubble tea shop specialising in signature black sugar milk tea. Originally established in Taichung, Taiwan in November 2017, Tiger Sugar has expanded internationally to Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and beyond. The Scarborough location at Midland Avenue is one of several GTA outposts alongside locations at Yonge and Carlton, Yonge and Eglinton, Kennedy and Highway 7, and Bayview and Wellington. The brand's signature drink features a distinctive tiger-stripe pattern created with slow-cooked black sugar syrup, fresh tapioca boba, and a layer of cream mousse. Tapioca pearls are made fresh every four hours without preservatives. Known for its visually striking presentation, Tiger Sugar is a popular destination for bubble tea in Scarborough.
