Piggy’s Island

Piggy’s Island, located in Markham (Thornhill), Ontario, was a long-standing family-run Korean barbecue restaurant that served the community for 15 years. Founded by a dedicated family team, the restaurant originally opened under the name Piggy's before expanding its concept. It became well-known for its traditional Korean culinary approach, notably featuring charcoal-grilled pork ribs and meats seasoned with imported South Korean sea salt. A hallmark of their dining experience was the use of a traditional cast-iron lid (sot-ddukkeong) for grilling pork belly, alongside other popular menu options like handcrafted cold noodles (naengmyeon) and the signature UFO fried rice. In July 2026, the restaurant closed for a significant renovation to transition into a modernized dining concept named SOTTI.
