Casavant

Casavant is a lively contemporary French bistro located at 350 rue de Castelnau Est in the Villeray neighborhood of Montreal, Quebec. Established in 2023 by owners Matisse Deslauriers and Geoffroy Gravel, the independent corner restaurant features modernized versions of classic French dishes crafted by Head Chef Charles-Tristan Prévost. The menu highlights a variety of seasonal small plates and menu mainstays, including beef tartare with smoked mackerel, scallop crudo, Grenoble-style sea bass, and a traditional house-made sausage with mashed potatoes (saucisse-purée). Complemented by a carefully curated Eurocentric natural wine list, the restaurant offers an intimate, cozy, and vibrant dining experience with late-night service. Celebrating its culinary excellence, Casavant has been honored with a Bib Gourmand distinction in the Michelin Guide and is ranked among Canada's 100 Best Restaurants.
