Bar Ape Gelato

Bar Ape Gelato is an artisanal dessert parlor located on Rushton Road in Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 2014 by James Carnevale and Nick Genova, the business originally operated as Toronto's first mobile gelato truck using a vintage Piaggio Ape motorcycle before opening its walk-up storefront in 2016. The shop specializes in a unique format of scratch-made, dense 'soft-serve gelato' alongside handcrafted gelato bars and sundaes. Operating seasonally from spring to autumn, Bar Ape is highly acclaimed for its weekly rotating flavors that emphasize local Ontario agricultural produce, such as Niagara grapes, peaches, and berries.
