Damas

A Syrian restaurant on avenue Van Horne in Montreal's Outremont. It first opened in September 2010 on avenue du Parc and moved to its present address after a fire destroyed the original room in February 2015. Chef and co owner Fuad Alnirabie designed the interior himself, with intricate tilework, worked ceilings and ornate light fixtures evoking Syria across a space seating more than a hundred. The menu stays with Syrian cooking, layered with spice and served in generous portions, with fish, charcoal grilled meats and fattet mozat among the house specialities. It is listed in the MICHELIN Guide for Quebec.
