Au Pied de Cochon

A Quebecois brasserie at 536 avenue Duluth Est in Montreal's Plateau-Mont-Royal, opened in 2001 by chef Martin Picard, who set out to serve top ingredients simply and in quantity. The kitchen became known for rich, unrestrained cooking such as foie gras poutine and duck in a can, treating refined products with the same appetite as everyday ones. In 2008 the group bought land at Saint-Benoit-de-Mirabel and opened its sugar shack there the following year, where it also produces its own maple syrup. Au Pied de Cochon appears on Canada's 100 Best Restaurants and is listed in the MICHELIN Guide.
