About this event

Toronto TAIWANfest is an vibrant annual cultural festival exploring the rich connections between Taiwan, Canada, and the world. This year, in partnership with Harbourfront Centre, the festival adopts the theme 'Islands in the Wind' and features a special 'Dialogue With Scotland', presenting an extensive range of cultural experiences including live performances, engaging films, insightful talks, culinary delights, artistic exhibitions, and interactive workshops.

Main Performance Schedule:

  • Friday, August 28
    At 7:30 PM, join us for a captivating performance by the Nanwang Sisters & Special Guest.
  • Saturday, August 29
    At 7:30 PM, immerse yourself in the 'Islands in the Wind' Symphony Orchestra Concert, featuring Maestro Ken Hsieh leading the TAIWANfest Orchestra with acclaimed Violin Soloist Lynn Kuo.
  • Sunday, August 30
    The day kicks off at 3:00 PM with a dynamic show by P!SCO, followed by the unique sounds of Zixuan & Slow Train at 5:00 PM.

In addition to these spectacular stage shows, the festival also offers a variety of other enriching programs. These include deep-dive discussions on indigenous societies, gender forums, historical reflections, and various workshops, all designed to foster a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture and its global dialogues.
