About this event

The Edmonton Dragon Festival takes over 96 Street this summer for a massive, three-day community celebration spanning from 102 Avenue to 103 Avenue. This free street festival brings downtown Edmonton to life with championship athletics, live music, outdoor cinema and cultural performances across two main stages.

Daily schedule highlights:

  • Friday: Lion dance preliminaries kick off at 9 a.m., followed by an evening feature presentation of Shades of LuLu (2026) at 7 p.m. The night wraps up at 7:15 p.m. with Reel Chinatown, a free outdoor screening of Shaolin Soccer (2001).

  • Saturday: Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with the grand Opening Ceremony and Parade of Lions, leading into the Canadian National Lion Dance Championship at 10 a.m. Live Canto-pop night concert from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Sunday: The excitement continues at 9 a.m. with the Pan American Lion Dance Championship, concluding with the official Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation at 5 p.m.
