About Dining in Calgary
Calgary's food scene punches well above its weight. The city's historic Chinatown anchors downtown, the Beltline hosts a dense cluster of modern bistros and izakayas, and the Northeast along International Avenue is one of Canada's most exciting multicultural food corridors. Add Calgary's legendary steakhouse and brunch culture and you have a city where any cuisine you crave is one filter away.
CHOPSBOOK's Calgary guide covers it all: downtown and Chinatown for Cantonese, dim sum, and Hong Kong-style; the Beltline for Japanese izakaya, ramen, modern bistros, and cocktail-led dining; Northeast Calgary along International Avenue and Centre Street for Vietnamese, Filipino, Korean, Ethiopian, and authentic Sichuan; and the southwest for family-friendly classics.
Use our filters to browse by cuisine: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Italian, French, Mexican, Ethiopian, steakhouse, brunch, bakery, café, and more. Or filter by neighbourhood to find what's near you. Every CHOPSBOOK restaurant page has verified menus, photo galleries, opening hours, and honest reviews from Calgary diners.
Because Calgary's food community is tighter-knit than Toronto's or Vancouver's, review threads here go deeper. You'll find detailed comparisons on which spot does the best pho, where to find weekend dim sum carts, and which bakery still hand-makes their pastries.
