Chez Truchon – Auberge & Bistro

An inn and restaurant in the Pointe-au-Pic area of La Malbaie, in Quebec's Charlevoix, set in an old stone house built in 1901 with eight renovated rooms and run by chef Dominique Truchon. The cooking joins French tradition to terroir recipes, and leans on producers from the region: duck from Ferme Basque in Saint-Urbain, PGI lamb from Saint-Hilarion, smoked sturgeon from Pecherie Saint-Irenee, organic vegetables from Saint-Aime-des-Lacs and locally grown oyster mushrooms. Onion soup made with beer and local cheese, or pouding chomeur with maple cream, show the style. It is listed as MICHELIN Selected.
